Riverhead Man Accused Of Driving Drunk, Crashing With 7-Month-Old In Pickup Truck

A local man has been accused of driving drunk with an infant in the vehicle after a crash near a busy Long Island intersection.

The crash happened in Riverhead at about 6:10 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9, and involved a black Chevrolet pickup truck and a gray Jeep Cherokee eastbound on Main Road near the intersection of Route 105, Riverhead Police said. 

Upon police arrival, an investigation was conducted and the operator of the pickup truck, Phillip Majeski age, of Riverhead, was found to be intoxicated, and had a 7-month-old child inside the vehicle, according to police.

Majeski was charged with:

  • DWI in violation of Leandra's Law,
  • One count of endangering the welfare of a child. 

Majeski was subsequently arrested and transported to the Riverhead Police Department for processing.
